Miquel – Lead Wine Expert
A native Californian, Miquel started the Vinologue wine book series in 2007 and has been based in Priorat since 2014. He literally wrote the books on DOQ Priorat and neighboring DO Montsant. He regularly writes about Catalan wine for various publications (including Decanter, World of Fine Wine, Wine & Spirits, and more) in addition to his award-winning publication, Hudin.com.
The only wine writer and Certified Sommelier in all of Spain to offer tours, Miquel’s certification is via the internationally-recognized Court of Master Sommeliers. He also holds the Certified Educator Diplomas for: Sherry, Cava, and Montilla-Moriles, each given by their respective Denomination of Origin councils.
He judges professionally at international wine competitions including the Decanter Awards and was the recipient of the Millesima Writing Award for 2020, Fortnum & Mason Best Drink Writer for 2017, and the 2016 Geoffrey Roberts Award.
Èlia – Administration & Wine Expert
Born and raised in Catalunya and now based in Priorat, Èlia has traveled the world from north to south, east to west and is fluent in Catalan, Spanish, French, and English.
A journalist by training, she is also an expert in the history of her region and all its culinary intricacies as well as the culture of wine having been the editor of the Vinologue wine books since they were created in 2008 as well as Hudin.com since 2010.
